Musical Chairs:
An allegory of social survival.
My work explores a children's game that conceals a brutal reality. Musical chairs is not just entertainment; it is a staged microcosm of society.
Through this interpretation, I question several sociological dynamics:
• Organized Scarcity:
The system does not provide a place for everyone.
Exclusion is structural, necessary for the functioning of the "game." For there to be a winner, there must be those excluded.
• The Arbitrariness of Power:
Who stops the music? The invisible authority that decides the moment of rupture symbolizes the forces (market, politics, destiny) that the individual cannot control.
• Hyper-Vigilance:
It's no longer a dance; it's a hunt. I wanted to illustrate this state of permanent stress where the other is no longer a partner, but a direct competitor for living space.
