Luc WunenBurger LWB
Painter · Eccica-Suarella-Corse, France
Welcome to the world of LWB, a painter who embraces Art Brut and unique explorations. Guided by instinct, LWB breaks free from conventional paths to create spontaneous and vibrant works. Through mixed media techniques (acrylics, collages of old papers and textures), his canvases capture the tumult, poetry, and whimsy of his inner world. Each piece is a visual cry, a dance between shadow and light where line and color express themselves.
In the artist's words
The Soul of the World in Motion
Illustrator, graphic designer, political cartoonist,
and hypnotherapist, LWB is a multidisciplinary artist
whose work is rooted in the depths of the unconscious
and the memory of materials.
His approach to raw and intuitive art is intimately linked to
his practice of hypnosis: he paints as one enters a trance,
letting gesture precede thought to liberate a raw truth,
nestled in the layers of the mind.
Rejecting the aesthetics of "clean" and "neatness," he seeks
beauty in wear and tear. For him, traces of the past,
faded inks, and tears are the precious wrinkles
of the work.
He likes to work on old printing papers or
yellowed newspapers, whose patina engages in a dialogue with his own
technique. Using acrylics, Ecoline or India ink, and sometimes his old piston-filling fountain pen, he imprints this material with a new mark, often set within antique frames that ultimately bring the object to life.
His paintings capture the soul of the contemporary world through imagery of puppets and automatons.
These figures, reflections of our own mechanisms and our shadow side, come alive in a suspended space: they fly, dance, and let themselves be carried, sometimes by a violent wind, sometimes by a gentle breeze.
Between the precision of a graphic designer and the letting go of a therapist, LWB creates a universe where old paper becomes the stage for a vibrant visual poetry, an instinctive dance between the history of the paper and the emotion of the present.
